Original Abstract Art for Interior Designers
Large-scale, layered mixed-media paintings created for sophisticated residential and commercial interiors
Cheryl Wilson creates one-of-a-kind contemporary abstract paintings with texture, depth, and presence. Working in acrylic, charcoal, graphite, ink, collage, and layered mixed media, her work ranges from quiet neutral abstractions to stronger statement pieces in olive, charcoal, cream, blue-gray, muted plum, and earthy color palettes.
Interior designers are welcome to inquire about available large works, commissions and artwork placement.
A thoughtfully designed room deserves artwork that contributes more than color.
Cheryl Wilson’s paintings are created to hold presence within a space—through layered surfaces, expressive marks, quiet passages, and evidence of what lies beneath.
Each painting is an original work of art, developed through repeated layers of adding, veiling, scraping, drawing, and revealing. The result is artwork that feels collected rather than decorative and continues to reveal something new over time.

CURATED COLOR PALETTES
Designed to Live Beautifully in Contemporary Interiors
Cheryl’s work frequently incorporates sophisticated, layered palettes including warm white, cream, stone, sand, mushroom, olive, sage, charcoal, smoky blue-gray, deep teal, muted plum, aubergine, and earthy neutrals.
Color is never used simply to match a room. Instead, palette becomes part of the emotional structure of each painting—allowing the work to complement a thoughtfully designed interior while maintaining its own identity.
This is where I would show three interior mockups:
Neutral / Olive
Blue / Charcoal
Plum / Earth

ORIGINALS, NOT REPRODUCTIONS
One Painting. One Collector.
The original paintings offered through Cheryl Wilson Art are one-of-a-kind works.
Surface variations, charcoal marks, scratches, collage, veils, drips, and areas of exposed history are intentional parts of the work and cannot be duplicated exactly.
This gives designers the opportunity to place artwork that feels distinctive and collected rather than mass-produced.
COMMISSIONS
Select Commission Projects
Cheryl accepts a limited number of commission projects when the desired scale, palette, and emotional direction align naturally with her existing body of work.
A commission begins with a conversation about dimensions, palette, placement, and overall feeling. The finished work remains an original Cheryl Wilson painting rather than a reproduction of an existing piece.
Commission availability and timing vary.
ABOUT CHERYL
Meet the Artist
Cheryl Wilson is an American contemporary abstract mixed-media artist based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Her work explores memory, resilience, faith, healing, and the marks that life leaves behind. Through acrylic, charcoal, graphite, ink, collage, glazing, and intuitive mark-making, she creates paintings in which earlier layers remain visible as evidence of the journey.
Her work is held in private collections in the United States and internationally and has appeared on HGTV and Magnolia Network. Cheryl is represented by select galleries, including Robert Kent Galleries in Georgia.
Her guiding philosophy is simple:
“I paint what the soul remembers.”
