Shipping & Returns

Shipping Policy

Shipping is for collectors in the Unites States. If outside the US, please contact me at Cheryl@cherylwilsonart.com and we can discuss shipping costs. Free shipping on items over $1000.  Other shipping is on a sliding scale.  I wrap all of my paintings with high quality glassine paper, sturdy boxes or mailers. I choose the best shipping solution for the artwork depending on location, size and object of artwork.  I will let you know the shipping details once I have them. There will be times I will need to remove the painting from the bars and ship in a tube due to avoid damage in shipping. I will discuss this with you ahead of time if necessary or not noted on painting description. (for commissions, see below)

Return & Exchange Policy

All sales of original artwork are final, but we’re here to support you if any issues arise. If your order is lost, damaged, or stolen, please reach out to us within 5 days of delivery with your order Information and photos of the damaged packaging. While we’re unable to offer refunds, your satisfaction is our priority and I can work with you on a solution. Thank you for choosing our original art—we truly appreciate it! It is my hope you love your painting from me.  If you do not for any reason, please contact me.  I will work with you on a suitable solution.

Commissions

A commissioned painting is a deeply personal collaboration between collector and artist. Each piece is created in my signature abstract mixed media style, using layered color, texture, mark-making, veiling, scraping, and intuitive movement to create artwork that feels meaningful, original, and connected to your space.

My commissions are best suited for collectors who are drawn to my existing body of work and want a painting created with a similar emotional depth, palette, texture, and artistic voice.

How the Commission Process Works

The process begins with a conversation about your space, preferred size, color direction, emotional tone, and any meaningful inspiration you would like me to consider. You may be asked to provide photos of the room where the artwork will hang, wall dimensions, and examples of my past work that you feel drawn to.  You will be asked to fill out an agreement with the terms and sign this agreement before we begin.

Once the size, direction, timeline, and pricing are agreed upon, a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your place on my studio calendar and begin the creative process.

Artistic Style and Creative Direction

Your preferences, space, and story will help guide the painting, but the final artwork will be created through my own artistic process and professional judgment. I do not create exact copies of previous work or another artist’s work. Each commission is an original painting created in my own voice.

Commissions are collaborative, but they are not intended to be controlled brushstroke by brushstroke. The most successful commissions happen when there is trust, openness, communication and room for the artwork to become what it needs to be.

Payment

A non-refundable deposit is required before any commission work begins. This deposit secures your place on my calendar and covers planning time, materials, concept development, and the beginning stages of the artwork.

The remaining balance is due before pickup, delivery, or shipping. Shipping, delivery, framing, and installation are not included unless specifically agreed upon in writing.

Revisions

One round of minor refinements is included after the progress review or final preview. Minor refinements may include softening an area, adjusting contrast, adding a small color passage, or refining select marks.

Major changes, a complete repaint, a change in size, or a significant change in direction may require an additional fee.

Final Artwork

Because commissioned artwork is custom-created, all commission sales are final. Once the artwork is approved and completed, final payment is required before the painting is released.

Copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. I reserve the right to photograph and share commissioned work for my portfolio, website, social media, and promotional materials.

Begin a Commission

To begin a commission inquiry, please reach out with your desired size, room photos if available, color preferences, timeline, and what you are hoping the artwork will feel like in your space.

A commissioned painting should feel personal, meaningful, and true to both the collector and the artist.

Shipping and Damage

Every painting is carefully packed for shipment. If a commissioned painting is damaged during shipping, the collector must contact me within 5 days of delivery and provide clear photos of the damaged packaging and artwork.

Because commissioned artwork is custom-created, I do not offer refunds for damage that occurs during shipment. If the artwork is damaged in transit, I will work with the collector toward a resolution, which may include repainting a new piece in the same size, style, palette, and general spirit of the original commission.

Because each painting is created by hand, any replacement painting will not be an exact copy, but it will be created with the same care, intention, and artistic direction as the original commissioned work.
