Evidence of Light is an abstract mixed media painting about what remains after interruption — the quiet proof that light is still present, even when life feels veiled, uncertain, or difficult to name.I painted this painting through layers of softened greens, ochre, muted gold, pale blue, charcoal, and smoky gray, the painting carries both atmosphere and memory. The last image is one of the first layers.

Marks appear, disappear, and re-emerge beneath translucent veils, creating a surface that feels weathered, emotional, and quietly alive. The dark gestural passages speak to disruption, while the layered center offers a place of breath, stillness, and return.

As part of The Interruption Series, this piece explores the tension between what has been disturbed and what continues to endure. The scratched lines, softened marks, and layered passages suggest fragments of thought, traces of memory, and the emotional residue left behind after a moment of change. Yet within the disruption, there is light — not loud, not obvious, but present. It gathers softly through the center of the painting, as if revealing itself through the layers.

Evidence of Light is a reminder that even in the interrupted places, beauty can remain. Sometimes the light does not arrive all at once. Sometimes it is found in traces, in fragments, in what stayed.
