My Messy Math Homework 48 × 60 inches | Mixed Media on Canvas My Messy Math Homework explores the tension between order and emotional uncertainty. Repeated numbers, reversed calculations, fragmented lines, and partially erased markings suggest the mind’s attempt to organize experiences that cannot always be understood or neatly resolved. The pale, open upper field gradually descends into deep blue-gray and black, creating a powerful movement from clarity into emotional weight. Long, uncontrolled drips interrupt the surface like tears, rainfall, or thoughts slipping beyond our ability to contain them. Scratches, veiled passages, and buried marks provide evidence of earlier layers—some still visible, others nearly lost. At 48 × 60 inches, the painting surrounds the viewer with a sense of searching, pressure, and release. It reflects the imperfect arithmetic of being human: the ways we calculate, reconsider, erase, and continue forward even when life refuses to provide a clear answer.
